During Sunday’s third T20I match against New Zealand in Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s Naseem Shah achieved a significant milestone. He took his 100th wicket in international cricket, securing one wicket for 44 runs in three overs, including Tim Robinson’s wicket.
Naseem now has 51 wickets in Tests, 32 in ODIs, and 17 in T20Is. However, despite his achievement, New Zealand won the match by seven wickets, thanks to Mark Chapman’s stellar performance.
Despite the loss, the Pakistan team displayed resilience and determination. The series is now tied at 1-1 with two matches left in Lahore on April 25th and 27th. New Zealand had a strong start chasing the 179-run target, but Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi’s dismissals briefly boosted Pakistan’s hopes, showing their unwavering spirit.
Chapman and Foxcroft’s partnership of 117 runs was pivotal in the match. Chapman scored an unbeaten 87, while Foxcroft made 31, leading New Zealand to victory in the 19th.
Earlier, Pakistan had a promising start with Saim Ayub and Babar’s partnership of 54 runs.
