Persistent rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad led to the abandonment of Match 63 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) without a ball being bowled. As a result of this washout, both teams were awarded one point each. While KKR had already made it to the playoffs, the extra point helped their cause as they sealed a top-two finish, moving to 19 points on the table heading into their last league game against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati.

Gujarat Titans were eliminated from the playoffs race. The 2022 Champions and last year’s finalists moved to 11 points with a game to go. A favorable result in their previous league game would only take them to 13 points, while there were already four teams with 14 points or more. GT closed their campaign on May 16 with a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.
