Compared to the sky-high amount of money cricketers earn in an IPL season, umpires are just a little behind. Several reports have been published on the subject, and the salary category of umpires has been discussed there. Incidentally, the salary of umpires is divided into two parts. The first category includes those umpires who are on the elite panel. In this category, 1.98 lakh rupees are paid for umpiring per IPL match. On the other hand, the development umpires are in the second category. They get 59 thousand rupees per match.

According to a report, an umpire umpires an average of 20 matches. As a result, an umpire can earn around Rs 40 lakh in an IPL season. They also earn money from the sponsorship logos on the umpires’ clothes. That figure is alright: about 7.30 lakhs.

But it is given for the entire season. This year, the IPL tournament will include 74 matches. The base price of some cricketers is only 20 lakh rupees. In that sense, they are pulled by a team or remain unsold. In this situation, umpires earn more money than them.
