Thunderstorms were also expected throughout the day, and the city was under a ‘Red Alert,’ indicating worsening weather conditions likely to persist until Thursday, June 20, potentially disrupting the crucial match.
If the USA vs. Ireland match had been washed out, both teams would have earned a point, ensuring the USA’s advancement to the Super 8 alongside India and dashing Pakistan’s hopes.
